Charitable Tax Status
VGBN will consider in-kind donations in lieu of or combined with monetary contributions. VGBN is a Federal 501(c)3 and State of Vermont non-profit corporation and your contributions will be fully tax deductible. How to make a Donation
Donate Online through Google Checkout
VGBN is glad to announce that you may make contributions by credit card using Google Checkout. We selected Google Checkout as it is one of the least intrusive payment methods available. If you do not have a Google account, you will be asked only for an email address and a password. Unlike other online payment services, NO bank account information is required. Remember, your donation is fully tax deductible as VGBN is a 501(c)3 charitable organization. If you would prefer to donate by mail, please see our "Sponsor Donation Form" below.

What does it cost to be a VGBN member?
Membership dues in VGBN are $50.00 annually.
USGBC member employees receive a discount of $15.00 for a total of $35.00 annually.
Full time students receive a discount of $25.00 for a total of $25.00 annually.

Why should you become a VGBN member?
The continued participation and support of VGBN members is critical to our Network's success. Being a member of VGBN provides more opportunities to be aware, involved, and supportive of green building in Vermont. We encourage our members to be involved in many of our educational and advocacy initiatives or to attend any of our board or committee meetings. Your membership shows a commitment to green building in Vermont, which benefits everyone.
 Who can become a VGBN member?
VGBN recognizes that it is individual people who value and want to promote the benefits of green building. For this reason, since it's inception, VGBN has a membership structure to allow full participation on the individual level allowing people to get involved in their community and support local green building efforts. Therefore, ONLY individuals, and NOT organizations or businesses, may become VGBN members. This allows our members to join VGBN at will regardless of his or her employment status. Businesses and organization are encouraged to show their commitment to green building by becoming a VGBN sponsor or by joining our parent organization, the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) whose membership structure IS based on businesses and organization. VGBN is a chapter of the USGBC and acts as the local representation of USGBC. This allows the entire Network to benefit from the brand and credibility of USGBC and help VGBN and USGBC work toward our common goals. However, membership in VGBN does not include membership in USGBC.
What are the benefits of being a VGBN member?
Membership in VGBN includes the following:> participation in VGBN Email Lists,
> an optional listing in our Online Membership Directory,
> the ability to make multiple listings in the VGBN Green Pages,
> a free copy of our CD "Green Building in Vermont"
> discounts on VGBN sponsored events (Note that, at this time, this does NOT include USGBC events or workshops which require registration at through the USGBC web site),
> the opportunity to serve on one of VGBN’s committees to promote, develop, network, advocate, or educate, about green building in Vermont,
> in the future, a membership in Building for Social Responsibility a group of Vermont building professionals and others who are concerned with the impact of their work on their communities and society.
